It was about time we got some more mics worthy of our L Acoustics system and we found that the best way to go was to look at DPA’s amazing series.

For those who don’t know DPA, here’s a small presentation taken from their website.

“DPA Microphones is the leading Danish Professional Audio manufacturer of high-quality condenser microphone solutions for professional applications. DPA’s products are globally praised for their exceptional clarity and transparency, unparalleled specifications, supreme reliability and, above all, pure, uncolored and undistorted sound.”

If you already know DPA, that sounds about right.

First, we looked at the 4099 Instrument Mic and because I’m lazy, let me refer again to their website.

“The award-winning 4099 Instrument Microphone Series, gives you a much more natural sound than any clip-on microphone or pickup. This condenser microphone rejects unwanted noise and accurately captures the true voice of your acoustic instrument.“

Of course, you don’t have to take their word for it, no need to say, we did.
